Brunch with kids in Thảo Điền: a treat for everyone
A thoughtful playground, cosy reading nook, chess and nourishing kids’ meals. Discover the little details that make family brunch easier at Au Patio Thảo Điền.
One child wants to climb. Another has found a book and a comfortable place to curl up. A third is deciding whether a knight really can move that way. And you have finally taken the first sip of your coffee.
That is the family morning we have in mind at Au Patio Thảo Điền: children finding their own kind of fun, parents enjoying a proper brunch, and good food bringing everybody back to the table.
A playground for little ones and bigger kids
Our playground has been thought through for children at different stages, from younger ones to older primary-school-aged kids. The climbing structure gives active children something to get absorbed in, while other parts of the space invite a slower kind of play.
That matters when siblings and friends arrive with different ideas about a good morning. One wants to move; another wants to make up a story. A family outing feels easier when there is more than one way to enjoy it.
You stay nearby and keep an eye on your little explorers, with your own brunch still very much part of the occasion.

A cosy nook, a book, or a real game of chess
Below the play structure, a cosy area with cushions and bean bags gives children somewhere to settle down. They can pick up a book, get comfortable and spend a little time in their own world.
There are books and board games to discover, as well as chess tables with the pieces for a proper game. Older children can get involved in the next move; parents can join in, too. A quiet reader and an enthusiastic climber can each find something that suits the mood.
Sometimes the best part of brunch is hearing about the story they have just read. Sometimes it is finding out who has quietly become the best chess player in the family.
Food we put proper thought into
We want children to look forward to their food, and parents to feel good about what is on the plate. Homemade cooking and fresh, nourishing choices sit at the heart of our approach to the kids’ menu, with the same care we give the adults’ food.
Our Kids’ Breakfast brings an egg, avocado, cherry tomatoes, hash brown, bacon and bread: familiar things with different tastes and textures to enjoy. There is Mini Granola, a Mini Fruit Salad, or a Mini Ham Toastie with cooked ham, cheddar and mayo for another kind of appetite.
The idea is to make a proper meal appealing to children: something tasty they want to eat, with choices parents can recognise and feel comfortable ordering. Small appetites deserve attention, too.

A Bellany paleta, or a favourite scoop
A family brunch can have a sweet little ending. We partner with Bellany for our paletas: tasty fruit ice pops, with lime, passion fruit or strawberry on the menu.
There is ice cream, too, with flavours including chocolate chip, vanilla, strawberry, salted caramel and mango. Choosing a favourite can become quite a serious part of the conversation.
A nourishing meal and a small treat can both have a place at the table. We like giving families room to enjoy the whole occasion, from the first bite of breakfast to the last cool spoonful.
The details that make eating out with kids easier
There is complimentary drinking water, along with children’s plates and cutlery and high chairs for little guests. A child-sized toilet and a low washbasin make those ordinary moments of washing hands and getting ready for the next bite a little more manageable.
For families with babies, there is a changing table and towels. Books, games, the cosy nook and the playground give children different ways to spend their time, while the patio’s greenery, shade and fans help everyone settle in.
These details are part of how we welcome families at Thảo Điền. They take some of the small practical things off your mind, leaving more attention for the people you came with.
Brunch should be a treat for parents, too
While the children find their favourite corner, choose something you are looking forward to eating. A Full Breakfast, a savoury toast or an English Muffin. A Vietnamese coffee, flat white, cold brew or hot tea. Something fresh to drink alongside it, if that is your kind of morning.
You can enjoy your own meal while staying involved in theirs: a little help with a book, an opinion on the next chess move, another piece of fruit passed across the table.

Come for a meal everyone can enjoy. Stay for the book, the game, and the coffee you get to finish while it is still warm.
